Senator Edward Baker dies at Ball's Bluff
Death of Col. Edward "Ned" Baker at Ball's Bluff, Virginia
Steel engraving from the Library of Congress illustrates one of the many description of Ned Baker's death at the Battle of Ball's Bluff. Baker was a U. S. Senator from Oregon and remains to this day the only sitting Senator to be killed in battle.
