Isham Harris
Civil War governor of Tennessee until 1862, Harris was at the Battle of Shiloh as aide to Sidney Johnston
Governor and later, Senator from Tennessee, Isham Harris simply gave up the governorship of the state when Union troops took Nashville in 1862 (normally, an ousted governor would form a government-in-exile). Instead he served as aide-de-camp for Albert Sidney Johnston and Joseph E. Johnston. He kneeled aside A. S. Johnston as Johnston died in a peach orchard during the Battle of Shiloh
